my method of communicating

Some days communicating how I am feeling through words is near to impossible. And some days actions will always give the message I am trying so desperately to convey under my stubborn outer shell.

For instance- Chocolate Covered Pistachio Almond Cake Truffles might just tell my mom how much I love her and am grateful for her better than any words ever could. That I would have struggled a lot more these past couple of months without her, or that I owe her so much more than I can give (or say.)

And sometimes Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie is my only way of offering peace to my poor husband after I have exhausted him with my selfishness.  Some days it's the best way for me to say "I am so sorry."

It's not necessarily that I feel sugar & fat is going to heal all of the damage I have done, but I know that baking away in my kitchen for someone's benefit other than my own does wonders at softening my heart. Serving others with a talent God has so graciously given heals in infinite ways.

I am a firm believer that charity is the first step to take in trying to learn to love yourself.

Don't bury those talents, friends.
