twenty-thirteen | a review

2013 brought us a 23rd birthday for my dude, and a 21st birthday for myself, 2 years of marriage, 5 years of love, two baby-shower celebrations in two different states, a road trip to utah, a cross country trip to Illinois, and most importantly becoming a family of three.

2013 redefined love. For my body, for my girl, for my husband, my mother, and most importantly, my Savior.

2013 taught me to be still. To pace myself, and to be in the present. To appreciate the little cries that awaken me several hours in the night. To embrace the beauty in messy hair and sleepy eyes. To trust my gut when I know something is not right.

2013 was a monumental year - the most important year I have been alive, I'd dare say.

2014 will take our little family to live across the world, in the Land of the Rising Sun.
And my goal simply is to love. Only love.

The rest will follow.

  5. I just came across your postpartum post, which I love and had to read more on you then get to this post and realize how similar our stories are. My husband and I are also 23 & 21 and we have a alomst four month old baby girl Maxine, and also celebrated our second wedding anniversary this year. Though we have not been to Japan we have spent our married life in South Africa and Hawaii and are about to make the move to California! I love this post, the photoagraphy is absolutely amazing!

  6. I saw your blog from Natalie posting it on facebook. I am your Mom's cousin, the last time I saw you were still a young girl. I am so impressed by your wisdom. You are young and get it. I love your photography as well. The picture of Uncle Richard made me cry, he always makes me feel close to my Dad because he looks so much like him to me. I love seeing him because as he has aged over the years I try to imagine what my Dad would look like at that age. And seeing him hold your baby so sweet is so tender. I think my Dad would be that happy to hold my babies. Thank you. Best wishes for you my cousin.
